How do you deal with living with a slob?
He has always been a slob, admits it openly and does not deny it. He works but so do i. I feel like i have two jobs! One of which I work harder and don’t get paid for! Aside his snobbishness, He actually has the nerve to complain that I did a slob job making the bed, that the lampshade is dusty, or that there is a piece of rice in the sink! I tried not cleaning and then he gets mad, comes home from work and starts throwing dishes into the sink! I guess there are two issues here, his ungratefulness and his slob-ish ways. I never say anything to him. I don’t think it is worth arguing over, so I just spend hours cleaning and if i don’t then there will be gnats flying around his empty beer cans lying all over the place! What do I do? I think he actually thinks I LIKE to clean. I don’t- I just know that the good fairy is not going to come and do it, so I HAVE to! No one else will. What should I do?
If you are married, HIRE someone to do the cleaning. If he insists on making messes he won’t clean up then you are justified in insisting that the household budget includes a paid housekeeper.
If this is a boyfriend, consider whether you want to live like this your whole life. Don’t be one of those women who makes her choice with her eyes open and then complains about it for the next 40 years.
